Ryan Heman

Ryan Heman is an Investments Manager at Humanity United supporting the foundation’s multi-pronged strategy to eradicate forced labor and exploitation across global supply chains. He has previously served in other capacities at HU assisting the External Affairs, Communications, and Investments teams in their program and administrative tasks.

Ryan’s career in philanthropy began at The Philanthropy Workshop, a strategic philanthropy education and networking program for high-net-worth individuals promoting sustainable change across their varied interests. He has additionally conducted research with Wellspring Advisors, the Arcus Foundation, and OutRight Action International in their respective work spanning international LGBTI rights and Great Apes conservation.

Ryan holds a master’s degree in human rights from Columbia University, where his research focused on philanthropy’s response to the complex adaptive systems underlying global rights abuses. He completed his undergraduate studies at Tufts University and University College London.
