Ryan Heman
Ryan Heman is Senior Manager, Forced Labor & Human Trafficking at Humanity United, supporting the foundation’s systems strategy to eradicate forced labor and exploitation across global supply chains as well as abuses experienced by labor migrants.
Ryan’s career in philanthropy began at The Philanthropy Workshop, a strategic philanthropy education and networking program for high-net-worth individuals promoting sustainable change across their varied interests. He has additionally conducted research with the Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, the Arcus Foundation, and OutRight Action International in their respective work spanning international LGBTI rights and Great Apes conservation.
Ryan holds a master’s degree in human rights from Columbia University, where his research focused on philanthropy’s response to the complex adaptive systems underlying global rights abuses. He completed his undergraduate studies at Tufts University and University College London.
