Social Justice, Mission-Driven Leaders Join HU Board of Trustees

Humanity United announced today that Rajasvini Bhansali and Purity Kagwiria have been appointed to serve as members of the philanthropic organization’s Board of Trustees.
Humanity United supports and works alongside partners who are working to advance human dignity and change the systems that enable violent conflict and human exploitation around the world. Together, we strive to foster a more inclusive, free, and peaceful world where all people have an opportunity to flourish.
The new board members exemplify that spirit.
Rajasvini (Vini) Bhansali is the Executive Director of Solidaire Network and Solidaire Action, a community of donor organizers mobilizing critical resources to the frontlines of social justice. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and has served on several philanthropic and international boards. Vini is a passionate advocate for participatory grassroots-led power building and a lifelong student of social movements.
Purity Kagwiria is a feminist and a social justice activist and story weaver based in Nairobi, Kenya. She is a senior Fellow at Purposeful and the immediate former Director of The With & For Girls Fund and Collective. She was previously executive director of Akili Dada, a leadership incubator for girls & young women. She has also been a Board member and advisory committee member for several mission-driven organizations. Purity is passionate about girls’ freedom and enabling young women to access spaces to advance themselves and their communities.
