Here in the U.S., truth, justice, peace and human dignity are under assault. These are principles that have guided Humanity United’s work around the world for many years. Tragically, today these principles are not cherished by some leaders and citizens in our home country, who instead actively promote fear and sow division. Today we stand with those who work for justice and equality, advocates advancing freedom and dignity, peacebuilders, and everyday Americans who want a better future for their children and themselves. We stand with those in our country who are often overlooked and pushed to the side.
Though U.S. leadership in the global community has been greatly diminished abroad, and our democracy threatened at home, we hold to the hope that our best days remain ahead. We believe there is still an opportunity for this country to live up to its ideals and lead as a force for good in the world, working as a partner and advocate for those seeking peace and freedom. For this to be possible, however, we must be willing to stand up against hate and denounce injustice, while also striving to build peace and heal division.
At Humanity United, we remain committed to our core principles, and in the coming weeks, months, and years, we will be resolute in our efforts to advance truth, dignity and peace both here at home and around the world.
