Roxana is a Program Associate with the Peacebuilding portfolio at Humanity United.
In addition to her work at HU, Roxana is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Prior to joining HU, Roxana worked as a Program Associate at Meridian International Center, where she helped to empower emerging and established foreign leaders through professional exchange programs.
Her main areas of interest include human rights, mass atrocities, and conflict resolution. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Roxana explored these interests, gaining valuable research and practical experience. Notably, she conducted extensive research on the use and impact of propaganda and sexual violence as weapons of war. She also participated in the Global Youth Connect’s Human Rights Delegation, in which she traveled to Colombia to learn about peacebuilding and conflict management initiatives.
Roxana received an associate of arts in International Relations from the Honors College at Miami Dade College. She subsequently transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a minor in History. Roxana grew up in Cuba and Is a native Spanish speaker. She lives in Washington, D.C. and in her free time, she enjoys reading and crocheting
