Humanity United Welcomes Srik Gopal as Managing Partner

Humanity United’s Board of Trustees announced today that Srik Gopal will be joining the organization as the new Managing Partner. Srik comes to HU from Democracy Fund, where he has served for the past three years as Vice President of Strategy and Program.

“We are delighted to welcome Srik Gopal to Humanity United,” said Pam Omidyar, founder of HU and chair of HU’s Board of Trustees. “Srik shares our values and conviction on cultivating the conditions for a more peaceful and just world. These beliefs will serve us well as we build upon the indispensable work of the last ten years, led by founding CEO Randy Newcomb. We look forward to benefitting from Srik’s thoughtful approaches as he leads the organization into its next chapter.”

Srik’s leadership and background in strategy development and impact will inform and enhance HU’s efforts to transform the systems that enable human exploitation and violent conflict. In this role, he will be responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration and co-creation within HU and engaging with a variety of individuals, organizations, and networks globally.

“I am honored by the opportunity to work alongside the dedicated team at HU, and in service to people and issues of such global significance,” Srik told HU staff. “As an immigrant who has spent the last two decades working on social change, I find the organization’s work to champion human dignity deeply meaningful. HU’s work is needed now more than ever—I look forward to being part of its journey.”

Srik will join Humanity United in January 2020. Humanity United and Democracy Fund are both founded by The Omidyar Group.
