In recognition of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, a blog post written by HU’s President and CEO, Randy Newcomb, was published today on the McCain Institute for International Leadership’s blog. In his blog post, Randy emphasizes the role of understanding and empathy to spur action against human trafficking:
National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month provides an opportunity to advance understanding and encourage further action on this issue. It is also an opportunity to take stock of our progress and rededicate ourselves to this cause.
I believe the eradication of modern day slavery is possible in this century. Because the arc of the moral universe is indeed long, in a sense our efforts have just begun.
