Megan Tackney

Megan is an Investments Manager for Humanity United, overseeing the Partnership for Freedom, a public-private partnership dedicated to promoting innovative solutions to end modern day slavery in the United States and around the world.

Megan joins HU from the Administration for Children and Families at the Department of Health and Human Services where she served as Special Advisor to the Acting Assistant Secretary. In this role, she provided policy and programmatic support for a diverse set of large-scale federal human services programs, including those addressing trafficking, domestic violence, homelessness, refugees, migrant unaccompanied children, child welfare, early childhood education, and teen pregnancy.

Prior to her time in the Obama Administration, she worked on human rights in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and spent six years with the National Women’s Law Center leading advocacy campaigns focused on gender equity, including reproductive health care, employment, child care, sexual assault, and rights for pregnant and parenting students.

Megan holds a master of public administration degree in human rights from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University.
