Kilian is Director of Humanity United’s Forced Labor & Human Trafficking portfolio. In this role, he works extensively with businesses, investors, and policy makers on how to identify and address labor abuses within supply chains. At HU, he has led the creation of the KnowTheChain benchmarks, which informs a network of investors representing $5 trillion of assets under management to understand what the largest companies with significant risk they own are doing to address forced labor in their supply chains. Kilian also leads HU’s work to inform and engage investors on how to align their assets with their commitment to labor and human rights and advises its policy strategy.
An expert on responsible business and investor conduct, Kilian began his career by helping to design and launch a variety of mission-driven companies and advising Fortune 500 companies on responsible practices. He has used this experience and expertise to provide guidance to national governments, including the U.S. Government and the European Commission. Kilian has lectured at the University of San Francisco, where he developed and taught a new MBA course on Sustainable Supply Chain Management.
