New Report: COVID-19 and the impact on local peacebuilding

As the impact of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic grows, our focus remains on how, during these challenging times, we can continue to support communities breaking through cycles of violent conflict. We are already seeing the drastic effects of the virus in how we all live our everyday lives. In areas already experiencing crises, the spread of COVID-19 could be even more significant and devastating.

Recently, we convened more than 400 peacebuilders from around the world so they could share their insights on how the current COVID-19 crisis is impacting their work, changing their needs, and shaping their perspective.

Today we published a report, produced in collaboration with Conducive Space for Peace, Humanity United and Peace Direct, that shares the key findings from the consultations, as well as recommendations from peacebuilders from around the world.

In a time that requires transformative thinking, we hope this offers a helpful ground level perspective.
