One year later — Revitalizing U.S. efforts in South Sudan

Humanity United’s Vice President for Policy & Government Relations, David Abramowitz, recently joined The Hill as a Contributor. Today he’s featured reflecting on the one year anniversary of violence breaking out between warring factions in South Sudan. In the pursuit of lasting peace, he lays out a number of actions the United States should take to end the fighting and find a political resolution to the conflict:

“The people of South Sudan have long lived with violence and persecution, both before independence and over the last year. But the hope of a stable, peaceful, prosperous new nation remains. This is the hope that led the United States to support the move to independence in 2011. It is a hope that can become a reality if the United States adds a new urgency to U.S. efforts for peace and reconciliation.”
